             The festival of Dussehra is celebrated on the Dashami month of Ashwin.  It comes around October only. This festival is celebrated as the victory of good over evil.  Ramlila is started in villages and cities ten days before Dussehra.

                   Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth day of Navratri and on this day Kali Devi also killed Mahisasura.

        On Dussehra, effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnath are burnt.  Everyone celebrates the festival of Dussehra. Apart from India, the festival of Dussehra is also celebrated in Nepal and Bangladesh. This day is a national holiday in India and Malaysia.
